The pump uses silica sand (not included) instead of a filter cartridge which is more efficient than running a traditional filter pump system. While the filter cartridge needs to be replaced every two weeks, you don?t have to change the silica sand every 3 years. The pump works by draining the pool water through a hose and into the filtration system. The

silica sand is highly compacted so it traps dirt and debris in the water as it passes through. The filtered water is then pumped down a separate hose and into the pool inlet. The addition of a built-in timer allows you to set an automatic run time, and the pre-filter basket is an additional mechanism that filters out larger particles such as leaves, hair and dirt.

A new feature of the sand filter is the ChemConnect dispenser which keeps the pool water clean and healthy. The release of the dispenser provides a consistent level of chlorine needed to achieve the proper chemical balance.

This sand cooler kit includes adapters for 1 1/2″ outside diameter pool valves. It is reassembly-able for added convenience. It is a perfect upgrade to a traditional filter pump and is a convenient way to enhance your above ground pool.
